GCC & AI centres of excellence in India

Your own team, with a supported path from set-up to ownership. We have delivered two global capability centres / AI centres of excellence, each with more than 80 people.

People in each centre

01

Build: shape the team around the roadmap

The centre begins with the capabilities your business needs. Roles, leadership, working practices and tooling should follow the work — not a generic hiring plan.

  • Data science and machine learning
  • Data engineering and RPA engineering
  • Team structure, recruitment and working environment

02

Operate: develop delivery habits

We run the centre alongside you as it matures. The focus is delivering the roadmap while developing the processes and working knowledge needed for an independent team.

  • Roadmap delivery and regular reviews
  • Processes, tooling and governance
  • Knowledge shared throughout the engagement

03

Transfer: prepare for ownership

The build-operate-transfer model is designed to move the centre to you. Transfer arrangements, IP, responsibilities and transition support should be agreed as part of the engagement.

  • Team transition and knowledge handover
  • Ownership and IP arrangements
  • Continuity through the changeover

Why companies choose build-operate-transfer

Hiring AI and data talent at home is slow and costly. Outsourcing gets the work done but leaves you owning nothing at the end. A build-operate-transfer centre sits between the two: we carry the set-up and the early hiring risk, and the team, its knowledge and its working practices become yours.

  • A faster start than building a centre alone
  • Ownership that outsourcing does not give you
  • A working team before the transfer happens

What we have delivered

We have built and handed over two capability centres, each with more than 80 people, covering data science, machine learning, data engineering and automation roles. Both founders are practising data scientists, so the people who design your centre are people who can judge the hires.

  • Two GCCs / AI CoEs delivered
  • 80+ people in each centre
  • Founder-led hiring and delivery standards

Who a capability centre suits

A centre makes sense when you have an ongoing roadmap rather than a single project: enterprises and scale-ups that want an India-based AI, data or engineering team of their own. If you need one defined piece of work, a project is usually the better start, and we will say so.

  • An ongoing AI, data or engineering roadmap
  • A firm plan for a dedicated team
  • Someone in your business ready to own the centre after transfer

How to start

The first step is a 20-minute call on how the model works for you: the roles you need first, how the operate phase runs, and what transfer would involve. A founder takes that call.

  • The roles and skills you need first
  • How we run the centre alongside you
  • What you want to own, and when

Questions that come up

What is a GCC?

A global capability centre is a company’s own offshore team that delivers technology, data or operations work for the wider business.

What is an AI centre of excellence?

An AI CoE is a dedicated team that builds and looks after a company’s AI capability: its models, data pipelines, standards and delivery practices.

What does BOT mean?

BOT stands for build-operate-transfer: a partner establishes and operates the capability, then transfers it to the client under agreed terms.

Is a GCC the same as a project team?

A project team delivers a defined piece of work. A GCC is a longer-term capability with its own people and operating practices, designed around an ongoing business roadmap.

How long does a transfer take?

The timeline depends on the required roles, hiring, delivery roadmap and agreed transfer conditions. It needs to be scoped for your centre rather than assumed from a standard package.

How is a BOT centre different from outsourcing?

With outsourcing, the provider keeps the team and most of the knowledge. With build-operate-transfer, the centre is designed from the first day to become yours, under terms agreed at the start.

What does a centre cost?

It depends on the roles, seniority and size of the team. We scope this with you after the first call rather than quote a standard package.

Let’s talk about your next step.

The workflow, the data and what needs to change.
